Morimoto

For my birthday, Brian and I went to Morimoto’s in Philly (we were there for a wedding, so we just made reservations :)

Brian had the omakase, a “chef’s special” with a little of everything, including dessert, appetizer, and two hot entrees - halibut and lamb. The lamb was really good (he shared). I had ramen noodles and Ishi Yaki Bop with Wagyu (kobe style) beef. I am now a Wagyu convert, and if I can ever find it at a halfway decent price, I will buy lots of it to freeze. The stuff is *good*

We both enjoyed our meals, and even managed to swallow the price (Open Table calls it a $50+ restaurant, I’d call it a $100+ restaurant). The ambiance was excellent, and quite tasteful. The partitions between the tables kept changing colors - it was pretty cool.

I think we’ll be going back at some point, but definitely not any time soon, our wallets couldn’t handle it!
