For my birthday, Brian and I went to Morimoto’s in Philly (we were there for a wedding, so we just made reservations

Brian had the omakase, a “chef’s special” with a little of everything, including dessert, appetizer, and two hot entrees – halibut and lamb. The lamb was really good (he shared). I had ramen noodles and Ishi Yaki Bop with Wagyu (kobe style) beef. I am now a Wagyu convert, and if I can ever find it at a halfway decent price, I will buy lots of it to freeze. The stuff is *good*

We both enjoyed our meals, and even managed to swallow the price (Open Table calls it a $50+ restaurant, I’d call it a $100+ restaurant). The ambiance was excellent, and quite tasteful. The partitions between the tables kept changing colors – it was pretty cool.

I think we’ll be going back at some point, but definitely not any time soon, our wallets couldn’t handle it!

As of yesterday afternoon, we have the written and ratified contract. The appraisal is happening today, and the inspection on Monday or Tuesday. Closing is Sept 11!

My mom’s coming down on the 11th to help pack and move, and will then help unpack the following week. Hopefully, we can make a place for her to sleep in the townhouse – without disrupting Brian’s office too much.

We have verbal acceptance of our offer! Closing is Sept 11 – and then we’ll see about scheduling a party. When exactly we move in all depends on how long it takes Verizon to set up FIOS for us

Written acceptance is expected to come in tonight about 7-8, and then we’ll have a fully ratified contract and start with the inspections and everything else.

We’ve decided on a house (yes, really that quickly), and we’ve started talking with the Realtor about putting in an offer on it tomorrow. He’s running the comps and research this evening and tomorrow morning, and then we’ll make the formal offer.

Yay!

Brian just called me, and closing went just fine, so we now own only one house for the next few months (until we find one we want to buy).
