Brian and I just returned from a trip to Cedar Point this past weekend. We had a great time riding roller coasters and catching up with friends. This time, we slept up in the loft rather than on the futons, and I think Brian’s back was happier about it as well.
Brian also tried out his backpack as preparation for our trip to Scotland, and I believe his exact words were “I think I need help with packing”. It was full with just the things for a long weekend. I had mine fairly full as well, but I didn’t bother compressing anything, and I had brought my full toiletries “kit” which takes up a *lot* of room and won’t be traveling with me to Scotland. I confess that I had my doubts as well when I saw my packing, but then I reminded myself that I had survived with the exact same bag for a month the first time I went to Europe.
The new coaster at Cedar Point was closed, so we didn’t get to ride it, but it will be open when we return in October (if we don’t return before that), so I’ll get to ride it eventually. We rode Millennium Force in the front seat (it was already a long line, so why not wait the extra 15-20 minutes
), although we sat out waiting for the front seat on Dragster.
I talked Brian onto the Ripcord in Challenge Park, and he and I rode with Karen K. I had been on one similar before (apparently, the one at Kennywood is 30ft higher), but he hadn’t. I enjoyed it, and a nice adrenaline rush before bed
Our friends used my camera to video us, and I’ll be posting that to google video when I get home tonight for everyone’s amusement.
Preparations for our trip to Scotland are well underway, and we’re just taking care of last minute things before getting on the plane - making sure someone can take care of our houses, leaving instructions, etc.. I’m really looking forward to it!
