Brian and I spent the previous weekend with the rest of the thrillseeking gang at Cedar Point. We drove to my mom’s on Thursday night, and then spent Friday bumming around until we left for Cedar Point at about 2. I forgot that PA students get out of school early, so i took us a while to get through Pittsburgh (we drove through Squirrel Hill and Oakland). It rained pretty badly the entire drive to Cedar Point, and I was scolded for looking at roller coasters instead of the road - so Brian was tasked with watching for trains on the Millenium Force and the Top Thrill Dragster.
The weekend was excellent, and Brian got a lot of nice pictures from his cell phone while we were there. It rained on us Friday night, and sleeted on us while we waited in line for the Millenium Force on Saturday morning, but it turned into a beautiful (if cold) day and almost all the rides were running - they even opened Raptor later in the evening.
Sunday, we stopped in at my mom’s for lunch before completeing the drive home. Brian drove all the way home from Keyser’s Ridge and let me snooze.
That was the first time Brian had met any of my family, and this weekend, I got to meet Brian’s family, and I think things went well.
On other news - we’re planning a trip to Scotland in the spring - any suggestions on things we just “have” to do? I’ve got Eilean Donan castle and Skara Brae on my list, and Brian wants to see a distillery, but other than that, plans are still being formed. So if you’ve been there (or live there), let us know what’s worth seeing. The current plan is to use public transportation, so any comments on that will be useful as well.
