Improved 5K time
I didn’t fully run the 5K on Tuesday, walked quite a bit of the second mile. There were a lot of uphill sections, and it was in full sun. I didn’t feel like dying in the heat, so I walked most of the uphill portions after the first mile. It was entirely too hot and too humid to be enjoyable. I think I’m declaring a moratoriam on races until the fall when it’s cooler. Until then, I’m going to run in the mornings with the other ladies until it cools off.
Despite the walking, I managed to finish with a gun time of 45:07 and a chip time of 44:13 – giving me a 14:32 minute mile, an improvement over my 15 minute mile at the Run for Roses. Now to work on being able to run up and down the hills all the time.
