Stupid People Rant
Somehow, I get to deal with all the stupid people at work (not my co-workers, but clients). The latest begins on about Tuesday or Wednesday of last week. I get a meeting request for Friday at 5pm. My Outlook calendar clearly states that I am not available on Fridays from 3pm on – and I still get the meeting request. So I respond back with “I’m sorry, I’m not available, can we please reschedule to earlier or next week?”. I got no response, so I figured we wouldn’t have the meeting. I come in this morning (Wednesday), and I have two messages on my phone: one at about 3:40pm asking me to invite someone else to the meeting, and one at 4:55 asking where I am. I leave work at 3 on Fridays (and my calendar clearly states that). Normally, I’d accept the meeting and call from my car, but my cell phone is completely out of minutes for this month, and I’m not wasting what I have left.
How do you miss an e-mail saying “Declined”? I can see that there might be a problem since he’s using outlook and I’m not (so the decline reply isn’t exactly formatted correctly), but at the least, outlook would have told him that I hadn’t accepted yet.
