Relaxing weekend

I had a pretty good weekend. I spent Saturday cleaning the house and cooking for Chris. I managed to find fresh green beans and sweet yellow corn at the Kentlands Farmer’s Market. And one of the farmer’s there is selling pickling cukes! Lyssa and I shall be down there once I get back from Paris to get some for pickle making :)

Chris came over for dinner and we watched “Ghost Dog and the Way of the Samurai”. Interesting movie, but didn’t really catch my attention. I also attempted to teach him how to do cartwheels. He’s got the idea down, just needs more practice :)

This morning was fairly lazy, and I spent most of the day finishing the new Harry Potter Book. I also made a trip to IKEA, where I was hoping to pick up my new dining room table – unfortunately, the 2006 set is out, and they discontinued the table I wanted. I don’t like the table that they replaced it with, so I guess I’ll just keep looking. I did pick up a quilt and cover, as well as the typical IKEA Poang chair to replace the rocking chair that Michael still needs to come pick up *hint* *hint* and it’s a nice suade type material

I expect this week to be busy with work and getting stuff done to finish off two projects, and getting ready to head overseas again. This time I’m hitting up Paris and Nancy, France for approximately a week. I know I’m going, it’s just a matter of signing the contract for the job and when I leave. This will make it 3 times I’ve gone overseas this year (including the upcoming trip in October) – more than I’ve ever been overseas before in my life.

May I suggest World Market for a table?

Personally, I’m terribly fond of their Akio collection (it’s “darkly handsome”), but I think they have some other styles that would better suit your decor. Prices are pretty reasonable for solid wood furniture, too. There’s one not far from where I live.
