It’s been a while

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything in my weblog. A lot of things have happened though. Michael and I talked last weekend about dating again. So as things stand there, we’re living in two separate places, but we’ve decided that seeing each other again, and basically “starting over” is a good thing for us. We both love each other so much, and I feel that by not giving our relationship a chance, we may miss out on our soul mate. It’s been a week though, and we have yet to actually go on a date though :) We have spent a lot of time in each other’s company along with friends, and he’s stayed over at the house for the past two evenings – partly for convience, partly for comfort. I feel that this way, even if things won’t work out, we at least gave things a shot, unlike the previous few weeks where Michael just left without telling me what ws wrong.

My Japanese final is next week, and we have to create a stupid skit. I’d rather just take an exam. We also have to turn in our “about me” paper. It’s been rather busy there, and this weekend being Mother’s Day, I doubt I’m going to get much done.

I’m also in the process of getting my wisdom teeth out. I went to the dentist and my initial appointment with the oral surgeon this week, and all 4 teeth are coming out on May 19th – luckily *after* Cedar Point, and I’ve asked off for that Wednesday through Friday, to give myself some recovery time, and a much needed break from work. The whole process is costing me about $2000. That’s what happens when you don’t have dental insurance. Luckily, I’ve got a discount card from eHealthCard and I’m getting 20% off – otherwise, I would be paying almost $2500 or more. The general anestesia is probably the most expensive, $500 for an estimated 1 hr of surgery. Then I got lucky, and only two of my teeth are impacted, which is about $400 each. The other two are coming in fine, so that’s a “normal” extracation – only about $200 each. This is an expensive thing.

On the financial front, I’m sort of screwed for a few weeks until ING fixes their mistake. I had $300/mth being taken out of my checking account to my Roth IRA, but when Michael and I split, I needed that money for bills, so I called and had them reduce the amount to $100/mth. Unfortunately, I look at my online statement yesterday, and they took out $300, not a good thing. It left me with approximately $80 in my checking account with several checks totalling about $200 not cashed yet. I had to do some fast moving of money yesterday to make sure that enough money’s in the account until ING credits me my $200. Michael paid me for his part of the car insurance this morning, so I’m cool until my next paycheck! (Of course, I’ve already transferred the money I need for mortgage, condo fee, and bills to another account to “save” it.) I should probably look at keeping that money in ING for the majority of the month and getting some interest off of it.

I’m trying to get rid of a lot of the “junk” I’ve accumulated over the years, and simplify my life. To that end, I’m going to be auctioning off a large number of Star Wars comics (the “new” Dark Horse ones as well as a few “original” marvel ones) on eBay. I have several full sets: Dark Empire, Dark Empire II, Droids, Classic, Tales of the Jedi: Dark Lords of the Sith. I’ll be putting them up on eBay later today or this weekend, but if anyone wants them, e-mail me and for the cost of shipping, you can have them if they haven’t been bid on yet.
